MSc by Research
It is possible to study for a one year MSc by research within AMOR, in
any of the subject areas in which the group has interests :
-
Computational Fluid Dynamics
non linear bubble dynamics stability of compressible boundary
layers.
-
Computational Partial Differential Equations
finite element and boundary element methods for
free boundary problems.
-
Industrial Mathematics
modelling of physical systems in manufacturing
processes.
-
Statistics
exploratory multivariate methods and resampling
methods.
-
Combat Modelling
developing stochastic models of small fire
fights.
-
Operational Research
various topics in decision analysis/support,
project management, data mining.
-
Simulation
investigation of meta-modelling approaches from
AI and statistics.
-
Intelligent Problem Solving Environments
higher level interfaces to numerical software
that exploit distributed resources.
Suitable candidates may be given the opportunity to transfer to a
three year PhD research studentship. Applicants should have a good
honours degree.
